Glass Ceilings, Broken Rungs, and Gummy Floors
60 years after the March on Washington, the gap in employment inequality remains stubborn and sizable—particularly among high-paying and high-growth jobs. Black STEM graduates are underrepresented in high-growth sectors, like technology, and in higher-paying roles. In tech companies, Black people are largely clustered at the lowest-paying positions, with little representation in the middle, senior, and executive levels. Survey the progress made in equal employment opportunity in the US.
